Pyramid Consulting, Inc. is seeking a QA Manual Engineer for an onsite Frisco, TX assignment. This 12+ months contract role requires hands-on testing expertise and collaboration with development teams to improve product quality.

The candidate will develop and execute test plans, track quality metrics, and document results while working in a Windows/UNIX/Solaris environment. A 4-year degree and proficiency with Selenium, SQL, and QA automation are required.

Qualifications

• Reviews, analyzes and evaluates business systems and user needs.
• Performs a variety of tasks.
• Consults with development staff in resolution of problems; demonstrates good judgment in methods and techniques.
• Interacts with senior internal and external personnel and maintains documentation of test results.
• Analyzes test results to ensure existing functionality and recommends corrective action.

Key Responsibilities:

• Under general direction, debugs complex software products through the use of systematic tests to develop, apply and maintain quality standards for company products.
• This position includes the following duties. Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.
• Develops, publishes and implements test plans.
• Defines and tracks quality assurance metrics such as defect densities and open defect counts.
• Reviews, analyzes and evaluates business systems and user needs.
• Performs a variety of tasks.
• Consults with development staff in resolution of problems. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
• Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department.
• Interacts with senior internal and external personnel.
• Maintains documentation of test results and execution.
• Analyzes test results to ensure existing functionality and recommends corrective action.
• Relies on prior experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
• May provide assistance for consultation on complex projects and is considered to be a valuable and knowledgeable contributor/specialist.
• Assists with development of quality assurance standards.
• Code, maintain and execute automated test scripts. May also be required to design automated test scripts based on the project.
• Assist with preparing reports and documentation updates.

Key Requirements and Technology Experience:

• Must have skills: Selenium, SQL, automation
• 4 year degree required in a related field, such as computer science, business administration or engineering.
• Prior work or coursework in C, C++ or Java is required. Prior experience with JUnit is a plus.
• Must have a working knowledge of quality assurance methodologies.
• Familiar with Windows, UNIX and/or Solaris environments.
• SQL skills are required.
• Prior experience with enterprise ERP systems is preferred
• Prior experience working in projects using Agile or Waterfall methodology, iteration and user stories is preferred.
• 3-5 years of experience in directly applicable functional QA role
• Prior experience in automated function testing using tool such as Selenium or equivalent is required.
• Prior experience with enterprise ERP systems (high-volume transaction processing) is preferred
• Prior experience working in projects using Agile or Waterfall methodology is preferred
