Job summary

Optomi is seeking a QA Manager – AI Quality Engineering for a hybrid role across multiple U.S. locations. The candidate will lead AI quality initiatives, architect testing strategies, and mentor QA teams and vendors. Strong hands-on AI testing, test automation, and experience with Playwright and REST Assured are essential.

The role requires guiding QA across API/UI/integration testing, while coordinating with onshore and offshore teams within Agile/DevOps environments.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in software quality assurance, quality engineering, and test automation in leadership roles.
• Hands-on with AI testing, including generative AI and AI-enabled enterprise solutions.
• Experience developing AI testing strategies: prompt testing, model evaluation, bias and fairness checks.
• Experience building scalable test automation frameworks using Playwright, REST Assured or equivalent.
• Proven ability to lead QA teams, mentor engineers, and govern vendor QA activities.

Responsibilities

Optomi, in partnership with a leading business management company, is seeking a QA Manager – AI Quality Engineering to join their team in a hybrid capacity in Atlanta, GA; Boston, MA; New York, NY; Charlotte, NC; or Dallas, TX.

We are looking for a hands-on QA leader with a strong QA Architect background who can drive quality engineering strategy, lead QA professionals and third-party vendors, and establish robust testing practices for AI-driven applications. The ideal candidate brings deep technical expertise in AI testing, test automation, and traditional application QA, along with experience building scalable testing frameworks and managing teams across onshore and offshore environments.

• 7+ years of experience in software quality assurance, quality engineering, and test automation, including significant experience in a QA Architect or technical QA leadership role
• Strong hands-on experience testing AI-driven applications, including generative AI, large language models (LLMs), and AI-enabled enterprise solutions
• Experience developing and executing AI testing strategies, including prompt testing, response accuracy and relevance, hallucination detection, bias and fairness testing, model evaluation, and reliability testing
• Strong experience designing and implementing scalable test automation frameworks using tools such as Playwright, REST Assured, or similar technologies
• Experience with API testing, UI automation, integration testing, regression testing, and end-to-end testing
• A strong foundation in traditional application QA, including functional, non-functional, performance, and integration testing across enterprise applications
• Proven experience leading QA teams, mentoring engineers, establishing testing standards, and driving continuous improvement in QA processes
• Experience managing third-party QA vendors, holding partners accountable for quality and delivery, and coordinating testing activities across multiple teams
• Experience working with offshore QA teams is a plus
• Experience integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines and working within Agile/Scrum and DevOps environments
• Strong communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate business and technical requirements into effective testing strategies
• The ability to balance hands-on testing and automation development with team leadership, QA architecture, and delivery oversight
