Job summary

Aviagen seeks a leadership-focused professional to guide the Quality Control & Assurance unit at the business level in the United States. You will ensure compliance with quality systems to protect our birds, customers, and processes, and lead training on Aviagen's QMS.

You will develop and implement quality policies, monitor regulatory adherence, and partner with operations, technical service, and hatchery teams to drive continuous improvement and corrective actions.

Responsibilities

• Establish in-process inspection standards and policies with vets and ops managers.
• Ensure Aviagen Quality procedures meet government requirements and regulations.
• Propose and implement improvements to quality policies and programs.
• Inspect export chick/HE conditions at airports and seaports regularly.
• Assess day-old GP chick and HE quality on arrival and report feedback.
• Coordinate with Technical Service on DOA and FWM records in systems.
• Monitor PS and By-Product production and chick quality procedures.
• Oversee chick holding areas and transport conditions; advise on corrective actions.
• Oversee vaccination processes; review supplier inspection reports and report quality issues to Hatchery Management.
• Identify training needs and deliver QMS training to employees.
• Participate in selection/hiring of quality technicians.
• Collaborate with teams to ensure correct QMS application and preventive actions.
• Investigate customer complaints/non-conformances and report findings and corrective actions to management.
• Conduct audits, analyze quality data, and prepare reports.

Job Description Summary

Provide leadership and guidance for the business unit level Quality Control & Assurance to ensure compliance with quality systems to protect our animals, our customers, and improve our processes and business. Adherence to these quality procedures and systems ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements. The role holder is expected to direct and facilitate the training and education of employees with respect to the quality expectations in the Aviagen Quality Management System (QMS). Job Description:

• Establishes in-process product inspection standards & policies by studying processing methods; devising testing methods and procedures, working with the company vet and all operations' managers.
• Checks and ensures all Aviagen Quality procedures meet and/or exceed government requirements/regulations.
• Generates ideas to improve quality procedures and participates in development and implementation of new policies, procedures and/or programs.
• Checks export chicks/HE conditions at airports/seaports at regular intervals.
• Checks day-old GP chicks' and/or HE physical quality on arrival and communicates feedback
• Works with Technical Service and Planning Specialist, monitors the DOA and FWM records ensures that they are recorded in the relevant systems.
• Follows procedures to monitor PS and By-Product production and chick quality.
• Monitors the conditions of chick holding areas, chick transport vehicles and informs negative situations to the Hatchery Management and follow up required corrective actions.
• Monitors the vaccination applications made in hatcheries, examines the supplier company inspection reports and, if possible, accompanies them and inform the vaccination quality to the Hatchery Management team.
• Identifies training needs and provide training to all employees regarding Aviagen's quality expectations and how to embody QMS procedures.
• Gets involved in selection and hiring process of quality technicians.
• Works with internal Teams, improves, controls and supports the correct application of QMS and informs hatchery management about preventive/corrective actions.
• Investigates customer complaints and/or non-conformance issues and provides report to Commercial Manager and Technical Managers (customer facing teams) about findings and corrective actions taken and/or will be taken.
