Job summary

Aviagen in Crossville, TN is hiring an immediate QA Manager to oversee quality assurance across egg hatchery operations. The role emphasizes supervisory leadership, ensuring products and services meet internal and external requirements, including legal compliance and customer specifications.

You will coordinate activities to meet quality standards, manage the QA team, maintain ISO 9001:2015 systems, and generate reports on biosecurity, animal welfare, and performance metrics.

Qualifications

• BS in related field preferred.
• 3+ years in hatchery/production or related field.
• ISO 9001:2015 or equivalent experience preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Willing to travel and possess a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Performing egg handling reviews.
• Assist in maintaining biosecurity standards in the Pedigree Hatchery and production facilities, including compartmentalization
• Maintaining all aspects of the ISO system for Pedigrees and Crossville GGPs including document updates, training document maintenance, and audit assistance
• Ensuring that the Crossville QA team assigned duties are fulfilled
• Managing the QA data that is being collected and ensuring data is accurate
• Conducting mortality investigations
• Serving as a liaison with external parties on matters relating to the quality assurance system
• Generate reports related to Biosecurity, Animal Welfare, ISO, and Quality
• Facilitate audits for animal welfare, biosecurity, compartmentalization, and others related to the quality assurance system
• Monitor and advise the performance of the quality management system and produce data and reports on performance, measuring against set indicators, collecting and analyzing performance data and charts against defined parameters

Key Responsibilities

The following duties will vary according to the needs of the organization.

Job Qualifications

• BS in related field preferred
• 3 plus years in a related field, preferably in both hatchery and production
• ISO 9001:2015 or equivalent experience preferred
• Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Willing to travel
• Must possess a valid driver’s license
• Good computer skills including Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, understanding of pivot charts, and presentation skills
• Detail oriented
