Job summary

The Kinsa Group is seeking a Quality Assurance Manager in Monrovia, CA to own the plant’s QA/QC and food safety systems. You will lead audits, ensure compliance, and drive continuous improvement in a hands-on, fast-paced environment.

You will work closely with ownership and senior leadership to protect products and customers, leveraging USDA/FDA experience and a strong quality culture to elevate plant performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or related field.
• 5–10 years of QA/QC or food safety experience in food manufacturing.
• USDA-inspected food manufacturing experience (RTE meat/poultry preferred).
• HACCP-trained and certified Practitioner.
• SQF Practitioner qualified with experience implementing and maintaining SQF systems.
• Proficiency with Word, Excel, and documentation/data management systems.

Responsibilities

• Own and continuously improve SQF, HACCP (USDA/FDA), GMPs, SSOPs, allergen controls, sanitation compliance, SOPs, and corrective action programs.
• Lead audit readiness and execution for SQF, regulatory, customer, and third-party audits; support supplier audits as needed.
• Serve as the primary liaison with USDA/FSIS, FDA, and other regulatory bodies; ensure labeling and compliance requirements are met.
• Oversee microbiological testing programs with third-party labs, trend results, and implement corrective actions when needed.
• Manage and develop the Quality team, including direct supervision of the SQF Practitioner and three Quality Control Technicians.
• Partner cross-functionally with operations, production, maintenance, sanitation, and leadership to drive a strong food safety culture.

What You’ll Do:

As the Quality Assurance Manager, you’ll take full ownership of the plant’s QA/QC and food safety systems—bringing steady leadership, strong USDA/RTE experience, and the confidence to drive compliance, audit readiness, and continuous improvement. This role is highly visible and works closely with ownership and senior leadership to protect the business and its customers through best-in-class quality and regulatory execution.

• 5–10 years of progressive QA/QC or food safety experience in food manufacturing
• Hands-on experience in a USDA-inspected food manufacturing environment (RTE meat/poultry strongly preferred)
• HACCP-trained and certified Practitioner (required)
• SQF Practitioner qualified with experience implementing and maintaining SQF systems (required)
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and documentation/data management systems
