Job summary

The Judge Group is seeking a Quality Assurance Manager for a food manufacturing facility in the Pasadena/Monrovia area. The role leads all food safety and QA programs, ensuring compliance with USDA, FDA, SQF, and GMP standards.

You will oversee audits, manage QA projects, and supervise QA staff while driving continuous improvement across the plant. A Bachelor’s in Food Science or Microbiology and 5+ years of QA experience are required, with HACCP and SQF credentials preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or related discipline.
• 5+ years in QA or food safety within food manufacturing.
• USDA-regulated processing environment experience required.
• HACCP certification and SQF Practitioner experience required.
• Strong knowledge of USDA, FDA, GMP, and food safety regulations.
• Experience reviewing laboratory/microbiological testing data.
• Proven leadership and team development abilities.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage product quality initiatives, microbiological testing, investigations, and corrective actions.
• Maintain SOPs, quality docs, specs, labels, formulations, and nutrition info.
• Act as primary contact for regulatory agencies and cert bodies.
• Ensure calibration, sanitation, environmental compliance, and plant food safety.
• Drive continuous improvement and support operational excellence.
• Supervise QA personnel and develop the team.

• Lead all food safety and quality programs, including SQF, HACCP, GMPs, sanitation, allergen control, supplier management, and employee training.
• Oversee audit preparation and compliance for SQF, USDA, FDA, customer, and third-party inspections.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership skills with experience managing and developing teams.
