Job summary

Northern Base in Cleveland, OH is seeking a skilled Test Lead to own end-to-end QA for database and API integrations within Finastra Loan IQ. You will design tests, write complex SQL queries, validate ledger entries, and ensure backend accuracy matches front-end actions.

The role requires hands-on experience with REST and SOAP APIs, API automation, and familiarity with Jira/Zephyr, CI/CD basics, and agile ceremonies.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2–4 years of hands-on QA experience in Finastra Loan IQ.
• Core knowledge of the Loan IQ Data Model, tables, and schema.
• Strong understanding of the commercial loan lifecycle, including syndicated/bilateral loans, drawdowns, fee management, accruals, and repayments.
• Advanced SQL scripting skills (complex joins, subqueries, aggregations, data profiling).
• Backend data validation for CRUD operations and transactional integrity.
• Experience with Oracle SQL or MS SQL Server.
• ETL testing experience (source-to-target mapping validation).
• Knowledge of database performance optimization or stored procedures.
• RESTful and SOAP API testing using Postman or SoapUI.
• API test automation using RestAssured (Java) or Python requests.
• SDLC/STLC, and bug life cycle tracking in Jira/Zephyr.
• Manual and automated regression testing experience.
• Basic automation framework knowledge with Java/Selenium or Python.
• Basic exposure to CI/CD triggers (Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions).

Responsibilities

• Test Design & Planning: Design, write, and execute test cases mapped to business specs for commercial lending workflows in Loan IQ.
• Database & Integrity Validation: Run complex SQL queries against Loan IQ DB to validate ledger entries and balances.
• API Testing: Validate system integrations, APIs, and microservices powering Loan IQ, using manual or automated tools.
• Defect Lifecycle Management: Document and track defects in Jira, collaborate to reproduce, troubleshoot, and resolve issues.
• Agile Participation: Participate in Sprint ceremonies to maintain quality gates throughout.
