Job summary

Potters Industries is seeking a QA Lab Technician I to perform test procedures on finished products and report results. You will identify off-spec production, maintain records of non-conforming material, and ensure test equipment is calibrated and certified.

You will also manage data in Access and Excel, prepare COAs for shipments, and perform sieve analyses with Rotap while upholding ISO9001 and HSE standards. Strong teamwork and basic IT skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 1 to 3 years of Quality Assurance Lab Experience in a Manufacturing Environment.
• 1 to 3 years forklift operations and/or certification preferred
• Ability to use computer - basic computer skills
• Experience in plant safety systems such as Confined Space entry, Hot Work permitting and Lockout/Tagout of industrial equipment.
• Basic skills in areas of industrial mechanical equipment troubleshooting and repairs, pipe fitting, minor metal fabrication and proper use of mechanical tools.

Responsibilities

• Identify off-spec production in the lab analysis spreadsheet and in the Access inventory database.
• Maintain records of the disposition of non-conforming product; calibrate test equipment and ensure it is certified.
• Inventory critical lab supplies weekly and monitor levels; operate within ISO9001 standards.
• Enter data into lab analysis Excel spreadsheet and Access database; interpolate daily quality data.
• Prepare certificates of analysis (COA) for all customer shipments and ensure safe handling of samples.
• Perform sieve analysis using a Rotap; conduct tests of raw materials and finished product characteristics.
• Follow HSE rules, perform tests safely, and maintain lab housekeeping; support safety initiatives and training.
