Job Overview:

APTIM is seeking an experienced and talented Quality Assurance Inspector/ Construction Manager to join our team and provide inspection services at multiple locations, across the United States, for a National Retail Client. The candidate will have experience working in the field and on construction or renovation projects, with a specialty in the Electrical Discipline realm. This position will primarily be in a telecommuter/remote field locations to conduct Quality Assurance compliance reviews and/ or gather related data but may also require travel to APTIM offices for coordination with team members. The candidate will have extensive experience managing multiple projects continually and providing ongoing inspections throughout the duration of the schedule.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide daily Quality Assurance inspections during construction projects and coordinating with the Team for identifying key metrics.
  • Willing to travel to potential multiple project sites approximately 80-90% per week, within a "Region" of the United States.
  • Managing scope, schedule, budget, deliverables for facilities and buildings, associated electrical infrastructure upgrades and site improvements.
  • Working independently and as part of a project team and be able to adjust to changing conditions.
  • Interfacing with client personnel at a corporate and facility level.
  • Managing time to ensure a quality product is prepared to meet project deadlines.
  • Following defined processes explicitly while also being able to identify and accommodate new or changing scenarios as well as developing processes for new activities.
  • Plans, organizes, coordinates, and controls the project in accordance with Client's policies, procedures, systems, and requirements.
  • Participates and/or leads project meetings and planning sessions with engineers, contractors, and other project stakeholders.
  • Monitor construction progress and quality to ensure the project is meeting the construction schedule, submittals and procedures, quality assurance of implemented design and safety hazard analysis and documentation.
  • Facilitate and/or coordinate resolutions to questions or other construction issues.
  • Serve as subject matter expert on construction, quality and safety matters and liaison between the Client and construction team.
  • Through active risk management, protects the Client from unnecessary risks; maintain Risk Register.
  • Oversees activities of technical and administrative support and ensures that deliverables are produced on schedule and within budget.
  • Performs substantial and final inspections
  • Monitors project safety and quality programs.

Qualifications:

  • Willing to work in the field and travel to complete work.
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering, Architecture or Construction Management is preferred.
  • Certified Construction Manager (CCM) certification and/or Engineer In Training (EIT) with Electrical Engineering discipline certification is a plus.
  • Minimum of 5-10 years of field experience in construction management, quality control and/ or safety management.
  • Prior experience or training regarding environmental compliance and related federal and state environmental regulations desirable.
  • Knowledge and experience utilizing electronic project management system, is considered a positive.
  • Strong computer skills required. Must have a demonstrated strength and proficiency in Microsoft applications such as MS Excel, MS Word, SharePoint Online, etc. and the ability to learn other software applications.
  • Excellent communications and client relations skills.
  • Must have the ability to work as a team player.
  • Must have a self-starter attitude with proactive, results-oriented focus.
  • Must be able to interface with a variety of people with different technical levels and educational backgrounds and must be able to produce accurate and timely results while maintaining a positive attitude.
