Job Summary
The QA Inspector Level III inspects product to ensure requirements are being met and parts meet specifications. Audits processes to ensure all systems and procedures are being followed and inspects product to ensure requirements are being met. Must be flexible with regards to working hours to meet the needs of the department.
Essential Job Responsibilities
Other duties/functions may be added or assigned.
- Audits procedures, work instructions, systems and procedures along with appropriate documentation to ensure compliance.
- Inspects finished or in-process product and determines acceptance or rejection.
- Evaluates product against standards using required measuring tools, equipment and fixtures.
- Assures quality with regards to line clearance, raw materials, manufacturing, and housekeeping.
- Uses basic math skills, including decimals and fractions, simple use of formulas, charts, tables, drawings, specifications, schedules, computer scanning devices and adjustable measuring instruments. Audits reports, forms, records and comparable data to ensure compliance to procedures and requirements.
- Able to enter and interpret data in Excel, Access, Word and SPC software. Uses measuring devices (scales, magna mic, force gages, micrometers, calipers, etc.) requiring computer input knowledge.
- Use of judgment to plan, perform and make decisions as to the sequence of set-ups, operations and processes, including minor modification or pre-programmed computer routines within limits of recognized standard methods and procedures.
- Complies with instructions, prescribed routines, methods and/or practices or to respond to preset computer menu choices or preprogrammed computer commands involving making a minor decision.
- Responsible for the training and guidance of less experienced inspectors and production personnel with respect to QC methods and procedures.
- Problem solving skills for (assisting in) investigating customer complaints and manufacturing issues. Able to work with supervision to resolve problems. Supports data collection and inspection for new product development process.
- Must maintain regular and consistent attendance.
- Additional duties as assigned.

Safety
- Comply with the EH&S Policy and applicable regulatory and company EH&S rules and requirements.
- Report to supervision conditions or practices that are either unsafe or that may adversely impact the environment, to ensure prompt resolution of potential hazards.
- Attend scheduled EH&S training program.
- Actively support the organization’s efforts to meet or exceed EH&S goals and plans.
- Recommend improved EH&S practices.
- Practices safe work habits and follows general safety procedures such as proper lifting and bending, ergonomics, proper use of equipment and use of personal protection equipment (PPE).
Product Safety and Quality
- Follows Product Safety and Quality standards.
- Follows GMP’s in regard to food contact packaging as it pertains to the employee.
- Follows IPC product defense standards and complies with all SQF requirements.
Minimum Requirements (include education, experience, special skills, licenses and/or certifications required.) The list below represents the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. - High school diploma or general education degree (GED) with a minimum of three (3) years of experience in quality inspection or one (1) year in the Company’s manufacturing environment.
- Ability to interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to communicate one-on-one and in groups.
- Ability to interact with various groups of people.
- Ability to understand detailed written and oral instructions. Ability to investigate and troubleshoot problems. Ability to understand Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's). Ability to plan, perform, and make decisions regarding the sequence of set-ups, operations, and processes, including minor modification or pre-programmed computer routines within limits of recognized standard methods and procedures. Bilingual skills are a plus.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; simple use of formulas, charts, drawings, specifications, etc.
- Proficient in MS Suite (Word, Excel, Access). Experience in data acquisition is a plus.
- Must be able to read micrometers and calipers, digital force gauge.
