Job summary

Modular Mining Systems, a global leader and subsidiary of Komatsu Ltd., seeks a Software QA Engineer to apply system engineering disciplines—requirements management, quality control, and configuration management—on product development projects.

Based in Tucson, this hybrid role involves up to 10% travel, develops and executes test plans, and mentors teams while driving automation, risk mitigation, and traceability to ensure OEM driver quality and reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or related technical field.
• 3+ years of proven experience in software testing.
• Experience with Requirements Management, Quality Control, and Configuration Management.
• Experience with lab and field test instrumentation and automation; client/server and embedded configurations.
• Understanding of networking protocols, wired and wireless networking.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, detail oriented.
• ISTQB/ASTQB certifications are a strong plus.
• Knowledge of scripting languages (Perl, Python).

Responsibilities

• Leads and participates in test planning, creating traceability to requirements, risk-based testing, estimation, and scheduling QA efforts.
• Develops and maintains test cases, traceability, procedures, scripts, and test data for verifying quality of OEM Drivers.
• Develops and executes plans to identify, document, and mitigate technical risks.
• Directly participates in the execution of manual and automated system test procedures for reporting pass/fail results against the quality plan.
• Continuously monitoring and improvement of QA approaches and methodologies for OEM Driver testing.
• Provides leadership, guidance, and mentoring on Quality Assurance principles and practices.
