As a QA Engineer/Developer, you will play a key role in ensuring the quality, reliability, security, and performance of software solutions supporting a federal healthcare program. You will lead both manual and automated testing activities, helping deliver dependable applications that meet rigorous technical and regulatory standards. Working across the entire Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), you will collaborate with development teams, project stakeholders, and government partners to establish effective testing strategies and processes. Your responsibilities will span test planning, automation development, API validation, security testing, accessibility compliance, and regression testing. You will also provide senior-level technical guidance, oversee defect management, and ensure that potential issues are identified and resolved before production deployment. This fully remote opportunity is ideal for an experienced quality assurance professional who enjoys taking ownership of complex testing initiatives and improving software delivery standards.

Accountabilities:

  • Develop and execute test strategies: Create, maintain, and execute comprehensive test cases covering functional requirements, security, APIs, Section 508 accessibility compliance, and regression testing.

  • Build test automation solutions: Design automation strategies, develop testing scripts, and implement frameworks that improve testing efficiency, consistency, and coverage.

  • Establish testing documentation: Prepare master test plans, testing strategies, schedules, and supporting documentation across multiple projects.

  • Manage testing environments: Support test data preparation, configuration, and environment management to ensure reliable and repeatable testing activities.

  • Provide senior QA leadership: Serve as the primary senior quality assurance resource, offering technical guidance and ensuring testing standards are consistently applied.

  • Coordinate test reviews: Lead test case reviews, walkthroughs, and change control activities to validate testing coverage and alignment with project requirements.

  • Manage defect resolution: Identify, document, priorize, and track software defects, collaborating with development teams and stakeholders to ensure timely resolution.

  • Validate software quality: Perform comprehensive testing and verification to identify functional, technical, security, and performance-related issues before release.

  • Support government program objectives: Collaborate with project teams and government stakeholders to ensure deliverables meet established quality requirements, technical standards, and program expectations.

  • Drive continuous improvement: Identify opportunities to strengthen testing processes, automation coverage, documentation, and overall software quality practices.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or another related discipline. A Master's degree is preferred.

  • 8–15 years of professional software testing experience, including substantial experience with test automation, test planning, and test case design.

  • Strong knowledge of manual and automated software testing methodologies and quality assurance best practices.

  • Hands-on experience developing and maintaining test automation frameworks and testing scripts.

  • Proficiency with defect tracking systems, integrated test management tools, and software quality assurance platforms.

  • Strong database knowledge, including the ability to write and execute complex SQL queries for data validation and testing.

  • Experience designing and executing different testing approaches, including API, security, regression, and accessibility testing.

  • Familiarity with Section 508 accessibility requirements and their application in software testing.

  • Experience developing comprehensive test documentation, including master test plans, testing strategies, test cases, and project schedules.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead QA activities across multiple projects and throughout the full SDLC.
