About The Role

APN Consulting Inc. is seeking an experienced QA Engineer for a client engagement based in Boston, Massachusetts. In this role, you will help ensure the quality, accuracy, and reliability of insurance and financial technology solutions. You will develop and execute automated and manual testing approaches across web interfaces, APIs, data flows, and integrated systems. The position requires a hands-on quality engineering professional who can investigate complex issues, validate business-critical data, and communicate findings clearly to technical and business stakeholders.

The ideal candidate brings at least eight years of relevant experience and has worked with the Verisk FAST policy administration platform or Hexure FireLight or ForeSight platforms. You will contribute throughout the testing lifecycle, from understanding requirements and preparing test scenarios to reporting results and supporting defect resolution. The hourly rate for this engagement is USD 70-85, with final details subject to the applicable client and engagement terms.

Qualifications

Candidates should have eight or more years of quality assurance or software testing experience, including strong hands-on experience executing and maintaining automation frameworks. Experience with Verisk FAST or Hexure FireLight or ForeSight is required. You should be proficient in API automation using tools and libraries such as Postman, PyTest, Requests, or comparable solutions, and have advanced SQL skills for querying, validating, and reconciling data.

Additional qualifications include experience with source-to-target data reconciliation; UI automation using Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or similar tools; and integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines through Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitHub, or equivalent platforms. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills are essential. Insurance or annuity domain experience is preferred, as is familiarity with file-based integrations, data lakes, APIs, and end-to-end testing across complex systems.

Responsibilities

Design, build, execute, and maintain automated test suites for application interfaces, APIs, data pipelines, and system integrations. Review business and technical requirements, identify quality risks, and translate requirements into clear test scenarios and reusable test cases. Validate policy administration and related workflows, including relevant business rules and data outcomes.

Use SQL and other validation methods to verify data integrity, perform source-to-target reconciliation, and investigate discrepancies. Test file-based exchanges, APIs, and data lake solutions, ensuring that information is complete, accurate, and processed as expected across connected systems. Integrate automated tests into CI/CD workflows, monitor results, document defects with reproducible evidence, and work with development and business teams to resolve issues. Provide clear status updates, maintain organized test documentation, and contribute to continuous improvements in testing practices.
