Avantus Aerospace, Inc. is hiring a Quality Engineer in Santa Clarita, CA to set production standards and implement robust quality control systems that ensure product conformance.

You will lead defect identification and root-cause analysis, guide the QA process, and collaborate with engineering to drive continuous improvement. The role emphasizes data-driven problem solving, AS9100 compliance, supplier quality management, and cross-functional teamwork to maintain high-quality aerospace

Responsibilities

• Perform Contract Review / Planned Review Activities.
• Review Customer Purchase order and Preview order.
• Review Details-parts and/ or Assembly with Engineering.
• Review Customer Quality Clauses & special requirements.
• Review Boeing Part Standard, customer standard, Specifications, Part List, customer drawing, ADNC, Data list, 2D Model, 3D Cat model, etc.
• Review Part number, Part revision in accordance with customer instructions and notes
• Customer MRB submittals and Process Qualification submittals.
• Review finish process accordance with customer requirement (If it is applicable)
• Review Planning and QC Release to the shop.
• Create, Issue, Respond and Monitor all customer Corrective Action requests.
• Create, Issue, and Monitor all internal corrective actions as a result of a customer corrective action.
• Assist with Internal/External and Customer Audit processes and communicate Audit results, where needed.
• Initiate and perform Supplier Control Activities (Supplier survey approvals, Supplier onsite audits, Supplier Scorecard reviews Etc.)
• Initiate all source inspection request and interface with all source inspectors.
• Perform dimensional inspection and Create AS9102 First Article Reports for all customers.
• Submit AS9102 into Net-Inspect for any customer (If required by customer Purchase order or notes).
• Review First Article Previous Source Inspection.
• Correct First Article when customer requires it.
• Perform delegate source inspection when required.
• Attend to Customer request via phone and e-mail.
• Attend to Customer’s Return (CR).
• Enter Non-Conformance Parts from Customer into the PIT.
• Supply RMAS info to Senior Buyer.
• Make Entries to NCMR to Log.
• Make Entries to Bond Log.
• Make Entries into QA Databases.
• Working closely with the QA Analyst in determining quality improvement factors
• Implementing methods to inspect, test and evaluate the reliability of manufacturing processes, products, and production equipment.
• Working in accordance with deadlines for delivery of products or software
• Assist in Quality Clinic activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned by manager.

Job description

Quality Engineer is responsible for determining production standards for a company’s products by establishing quality control systems and setting product requirement rules. Their duties include identifying the specifications for an ideal product, determining an appropriate level of variation and monitoring quality assurance rates. Quality Engineers help create solutions as part of an engineering team. They work to find defects, determine the causes of those defects, and provide solutions to defected problems. The role of a Quality Engineer is to implement effective quality controls, teach production staff how to use them and supervise outcomes. Quality Engineers design automated testing systems and quality control workflows to improve the efficiency of the quality assurance process. They collect data about instances of product errors and investigate possible solutions by troubleshooting the manufacturing or design process.
