Job summary

SimplePractice is seeking a Sr. Data Analyst, Strategic Health Analytics, to join our team. You will partner across Clinical, Commercial, and Product teams to translate questions into rigorous analyses and actionable insights. The role balances technical problem solving with strategic storytelling for internal and external stakeholders.

You will drive scalable reporting, dashboards, and analysis to inform business development and product decisions, with a focus on healthcare data and analytics.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in analytics, data analysis, research, or related quantitative roles.
  • Strong SQL skills and experience working with large, complex datasets.
  • Experience with Tableau or similar BI and visualization tools.
  • Proficiency in Python or a similar analytical programming language.
  • Strong analytical and statistical foundation, including experience with regression, hypothesis testing, experimentation, or related approaches.
  • Proven ability to take ambiguous questions, structure a sound analytical approach, and deliver clear, convincing insights.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate complex analysis into accessible narratives for a range of stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively across functions.
  • Interest in learning the healthcare domain and applying analytics to strategic healthcare questions.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Clinical, Commercial, and Product stakeholders to identify core questions, translate them into clear analytical approaches and actionable answers
  • Communicate credible, data-driven insights and recommendations clearly to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Support customer, partner, and business development conversations with data-driven insights, thought partnership and accessible storytelling
  • Analyze complex datasets using SQL, Tableau, and other analytical tools to uncover trends, evaluate opportunities, and inform strategic decisions
  • Apply statistical and analytical methods to generate actionable insights across clinical, commercial, product, and market-related questions
  • Identify recurring analytical needs and help turn them into scalable reports, dashboards, models, and self-serve tools where possible
  • Build and maintain reliable analytical assets that integrate multiple data sources and improve accessibility, consistency, and trust in the data
  • Mentor peers and contribute to a culture of rigor, curiosity, and strong analytical communication within the team

Responsibilities
  • Own QA activities for an assigned squad throughout the Software Development Life Cycle, including requirement analysis, test plan, test design, execution, defect management, and release support.
  • Design and execute comprehensive exploratory, smoke, regression, end-to-end and user acceptance testing for new features and enhancements,
  • Report, document and verify defects with clear reproduction steps and collaborate with engineers through resolution.
  • Work closely with Software Engineers, Product Managers, Engineering Managers and other QA engineers to ensure high quality feature delivery.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies to provide quality focused feedback.
  • Estimate testing effort, communicate testing progress, identify release risks and provide recommendations on release readiness.
  • Prepare and maintain high quality test documentation, including test plan, test cases, regression coverage and execution reports.
  • Collaborate with the automation team by creating automation-ready test cases, defining and validating automation coverage, and gradually contributing to automated test development within the scope of the squad while expanding technical knowledge.
  • Continuously improve QA processes, documentation and testing practices within the squad.
Desired Skills & Experience
  • Minimum 2 years of hands‑on experience in software quality assurance with strong focus on manual testing.
  • Strong understanding of Software development Life cycle (SDLC), Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC) and software testing methodologies.
  • Experience performing exploratory, smoke, regression, end-to-end, API and user acceptance testing.
  • Experience working within Agile/Scrum development environments.
  • Experience creating and maintaining high quality test plans, test cases, test scripts and test documentation.
  • Experience using project management and test management tools such as Linear, Jira, TestRail or similar platforms.
  • Experience testing REST APIs using Postman or similar tools.
  • Working knowledge of SQL for validating data and troubleshooting issues.
  • Hands on experience using at least one programming language such as Ruby, Python, Java, Javascript, C# or similar.
  • Understanding of web technologies including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JSON, REST APIs, browser developer tools and basic debugging techniques.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills with ability to identify risks, edge cases and gaps in requirements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to contribute effectively across cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated curiosity, initiative, and willingness to continuously learn new technologies, testing approaches, and automation.
  • Fluent spoken English
Bonus Points
  • Experience with Ruby and Ruby testing ecosystem.
  • Experience using Linear Tracker.
  • Exposure to compliance standards such as PCI and HIPAA.
  • Familiarity with the FHIR standard.
  • Experience in designing scalable, maintainable test cases and automation frameworks.

The Role

As aSr. Data Analyst, Strategic Health Analytics, you will play a key role in supporting Clinical and Commercial business development through rigorous, evidence-based analysis. This role blends technical problem‑solving with strategic thinking: shaping sound analytical approaches to ambiguous questions, executing analyses with rigor, and synthesizing findings into clear, decision‑ready narratives for internal stakeholders and external‑facing conversations.

This is a strong individual contributor role for someone who enjoys tackling complex business questions, identifying meaningful patterns in data, and translating analysis into actionable insight. You will also help make recurring analytical needs more scalable through reports, dashboards, models, and other self‑serve solutions.

Base Compensation

Base salary is one component of total compensation. Employees may also be eligible for an annual bonus or commission. Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay.The amount below represents the expected annual base compensation range for this job requisition. Ultimately, in determining your pay, we’ll consider many factors including, but not limited to, skills, experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job‑related factors.
