Job summary

Built Brands in American Fork, Utah is seeking a QA Document Control Specialist to manage and maintain controlled documents for quality, food safety, and regulatory compliance. This role ensures documents meet FDA, GMP, HACCP, SQF standards and are ready for audits.

You will develop a robust document control system, oversee revisions, and train staff on best practices across departments to support continuous improvement and product integrity.

Qualifications

• 2+ years' experience in Quality Assurance or Document Management related work.
• Bachelor's degree in science related field preferred.
• Knowledge of food safety and Quality standards (GMP, HACCP, SQF, FDA regulations).
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Proficient in document management software, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
• Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain a document control system for policies, standard operating procedures, and controlled documents related to the Quality Management System.
• Ensure timely review, revision, approval, distribution and archiving of all controlled documents.
• Maintain version control and document history in compliance with regulatory and company standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Quality, Production, R&D, and Sanitation to ensure documentation accuracy and compliance.
• Prepare and organize documentation for internal and external audits, customer requests, and regulatory inspections.
• Train staff on document control procedures and ensure consistent document practices across departments.
• Monitor document review dates and coordinate periodic reviews and updates.
• Route new and recently updated documents for approval and storage.
• Ensure security and confidentiality of sensitive information and restricted documentation through internal controls, as directed.
• Support the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives related to documentation and food safety systems.
• Follow all company policies and procedures as defined by management.
