Job summary

Northern Base is seeking an API Automation Lead to drive end-to-end test automation across active product releases. You will lead QA teams, establish robust automation frameworks, and coordinate with development and product teams to ensure high-quality API services.

Strong leadership and hands-on automation expertise are essential. The role requires guiding the testing strategy, mentoring engineers, and ensuring timely delivery in a fast-paced Agile environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of experience in API test automation.
• Leads QA teams and defines automation strategy.
• Proficient with Postman, Rest Assured, Karate, Selenium or similar tools.
• Experience validating request/response payloads and backend data with SQL.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end API test automation initiatives using Postman, Rest Assured, Karate, Selenium, or similar automation frameworks.
• Test APIs thoroughly: request/response validation, auth, integrations, and backend data via SQL.
• Define automation strategy and develop reusable frameworks; review scripts; drive coverage in Agile releases.
• Defect management, test planning, JIRA tracking, reporting, and stakeholder communication.
• Proven leadership in managing QA teams and mentoring automation engineers.
• General managerial skills and customer management reporting.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Strong experience in testing APIs, validating request/response payloads, authentication mechanisms, integrations, and backend data using SQL.
• Ability to define automation strategy, develop reusable automation frameworks, review test scripts, and drive automation coverage across Agile releases.
• Hands-on experience with defect management, test planning, JIRA tracking, reporting, and stakeholder communication across business and technology teams.
• Proven leadership experience managing QA teams, mentoring automation engineers, estimating testing efforts, and ensuring quality deliverables in a fast-paced Agile environment.
