About the Role:

The India-based, remote/telecommute QA Automation Engineer ensures the quality of various Information Technology projects. Operates as an individual contributor as well as providing guidance and support to other QA team members. Helps define and implement processes, best practices to ensure a consistent testing methodology across projects. This role also requires manual testing, writing test plans and test cases, peer reviews, and participation in design sessions. A good understanding of web applications, web services, test automation technologies, and excellent interpersonal skills are essential to develop relationships across multiple internal departments.

Must Have (Non-negotiable):

Qualified Candidates Need:

• 6+ years experience in Java
• 6+ years QA automation experience with manual and automated testing of Web UI and API using tools like Postman, Selenium, Rest Assured.
• 6+ years experience in Agile methodologies, Change Management, and Compliance.
• 6+ years experience with unit testing, regression testing, load, and performance testing.
• 6+ years experience with SQL databases, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, .NET, XML, JSON.
• 6+ years experience in test planning, execution, and documentation.
• 3+ years experience with SQL database testing and troubleshooting.
• Strong troubleshooting skills, ability to analyze and resolve system issues.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and switch contexts efficiently.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Quick learner with a strong customer service orientation.

Daily Schedule:

• Full-time, 8 hours/day productivity.
• Overlap hours required between 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM EST.
• Flexible hours outside overlap, but must work each weekday.
• Daily standup at 11:00 AM EST.
• Bi-weekly work sessions at 11:30 AM EST.
• Participate in Agile Scrum ceremonies for 3-week sprints.
• Willingness to work past 1:00 PM EST is preferred but not required.

Job Type:

• Long-term independent contractor position directly with the company, no agency involvement.
• Benefits include paid holidays and PTO; other benefits like medical are not included.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide insights on system requirements and testing efforts.

• Execute manual and automated QA testing, including regression testing.
• Support and evaluate automated testing tools and methodologies.
• Develop test plans and test cases to verify compliance with requirements.
• Ensure QA scripts are standardized, thorough, and correctly executed.
• Analyze and report testing outcomes using metrics.
• Coordinate with developers and IT to resolve defects.
• Provide status updates to management.
• Enhance and document the Product Development Lifecycle and Agile Framework.
• Manage testing environments in line with project timelines.
