Job summary

Peraton is seeking a Software Quality Assurance Automation Engineer to design, implement, and maintain automated test suites for core platform services. You will validate web interfaces, APIs, and system workflows in a government-focused mission environment from Colorado Springs.

The role emphasizes collaboration with engineers, learning testing frameworks, and contributing to CI/CD and cloud-integration efforts while ensuring high-quality releases and traceable requirements.

Qualifications

• Associates degree and 7+ years of experience or bachelor's degree and 5+ years or masters and 3+ years; four years in lieu of degree considered.
• 2 years of hands-on software testing or automation in Agile environments.

Responsibilities

• Assist in designing, building, and maintaining automated test suites using Cypress to validate web interfaces, microservices, and workflows.
• Support regression and functional automated tests and document defects in Jira.
• Learn test data handling in Postgres/MySQL for unit and integration testing.
• Perform basic Linux system analysis and scripting with guidance from seniors.
• Participate in requirement reviews, sprint planning, and team discussions for testability and issue identification.
• Assist with integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI) and gain exposure to AWS/cloud and containerized environments.
• Collaborate with developers, system engineers, and testers to improve test coverage.
• Support test execution during formal events and prepare test reports for stakeholders.
