Job summary

NTT DATA North America seeks a QA Automation Engineer to design and implement automated tests for web and API applications in Arlington, TX. The role emphasizes Selenium WebDriver with C#, API testing, and BDD using SpecFlow to deliver reliable end-to-end coverage.

You will build scalable automation frameworks, participate in CI/CD, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of software testing or QA automation experience.
• Minimum 3+ years API testing using Postman, SoapUI, Rest Assured, Swagger/OpenAPI.
• Minimum 3+ years automation with Selenium WebDriver in C#.
• Minimum 2+ years of BDD frameworks like SpecFlow or Cucumber.
• Strong understanding of REST/SOAP, HTTP/HTTPS, JSON/XML.
• Experience with NUnit/JUnit/TestNG/PyTest frameworks.
• Experience with Git and Azure DevOps.
• Exposure to Azure/AWS/GCP cloud platforms.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop automated test scripts for web and API apps using Selenium WebDriver and C#.
• Create and maintain BDD test scenarios with SpecFlow and Gherkin.
• Build/maintain Page Object Model automation frameworks for scalability.
• Develop data-driven test scenarios with dynamic data management.
• Perform API testing and integrate with UI automation for end-to-end coverage.
• Support CI/CD integration for automated test execution and reporting.
• Collaborate with QA, BAs, POs, and Dev teams to translate requirements into tests.
• Maintain and refactor automation frameworks and test scripts.
• Create test docs, automation reports, and defect tracking artifacts.
• Investigate failures, perform root-cause analysis, distinguish defects vs script issues.
• Mentor junior team members on automation best practices.

Job Description

Day to Day Job Duties

• Design and develop automated test scripts for web and API-based applications using Selenium WebDriver and C#.
• Create, maintain, and execute BDD (Behavior-Driven Development) test scenarios using SpecFlow and Gherkin syntax.
• Build and enhance Page Object Model (POM) automation frameworks to improve scalability and maintainability.
• Develop and execute data-driven test scenarios with dynamic test data management.
• Perform API testing and integrate API validation with UI automation testing for end-to-end coverage.
• Implement and support CI/CD pipeline integration for automated test execution and reporting.
• Collaborate with QA, Business Analysts, Product Owners, and Development teams to translate requirements into automated test cases.
• Maintain, refactor, and optimize existing automation frameworks and test scripts.
• Create and maintain test documentation, automation reports, and defect tracking artifacts.
• Investigate test failures, perform root cause analysis, and distinguish application defects from automation script issues.
• Mentor junior team members on automation best practices, framework design, and testing standards.

Basic Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of experience in Software Testing, QA Automation, or API Test Automation.
• Minimum 3+ years of hands-on experience with API testing tools such as Postman, SoapUI, Rest Assured, and Swagger/OpenAPI.
• Minimum 3+ years of experience developing and maintaining automation frameworks using Selenium WebDriver and C#.
• Minimum 2+ years of experience with BDD frameworks such as SpecFlow, Cucumber, or similar tools.
• Minimum 2+ years of Strong understanding of REST APIs, SOAP services, HTTP/HTTPS protocols, JSON, and XML.
• Minimum 2+ years of Experience with test automation frameworks such as NUnit, JUnit, TestNG, or PyTest.
• Minimum 2+ years of Experience with source control tools such as Git and Azure DevOps.
• Minimum 2+ years of Exposure to cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills.
