Job summary

Genomics England is seeking an experienced QA Engineer to reinforce our Java-based test automation and quality practices across the full software lifecycle. You will design and maintain automated UI/API frameworks, collaborate with Product Managers, Engineers, SMEs, and QA colleagues, and drive shift-left quality to ensure scalable, secure digital services for genomic healthcare initiatives.

You will work in an Agile squad, contributing to test design, data management, and evidence generation

Qualifications

Commercial experience as a QA Engineer with strong Java skills.
Proven test automation experience for UI and API testing.
Experience with Jira, Confluence, Git and CI/CD pipelines.
ISTQB Foundation or equivalent is desirable.

Responsibilities

Promote and follow software testing standards and best practices.
Design, build, maintain, and execute automated test frameworks in Java.
Contribute to quality practices across SDLC and support product/service assurance.
Collaborate with engineers to improve test coverage and shift-left testing.
Create and maintain test evidence, plans, and reports in Jira/Xray.
Participate in Agile ceremonies and sprint activities.
