Job summary

Apple Inc. in Cupertino seeks an experienced QE engineer to ensure quality across backend services and platforms. You will provide functional and integration testing, automate tests, and build QE automation tools to reduce regression cycles.

The role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software releases. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of QE experience, strong Java and scripting skills, and hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and cloud

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of experience in backend QE/quality assurance.
• Experience with Java and related frameworks; SQL databases.
• Automating REST-based and other web services.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Perl, Python or Bash.
• At least 1 year of experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP).
• Proficiency in QE automation architecture, methodologies, processes, and tools.
• Experience configuring and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (Maven, Git, Spinnaker, Jenkins).
• Experience in reporting and analyzing quality metrics from test execution.
• Ability to investigate, debug and triage difficult problems.
• Experience with bug tracking and test/requirement management systems.
• Proven ability to deliver high-quality work on tight schedules.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent context switching.
• Collaborate with cross-functional and globally distributed teams.
• Self-motivated, independent, and organized with excellent communication skills.
• Familiarity with Cloud/Containers, Spinnaker, and SCM strategy ownership is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide functional and integration QA for backend services and platforms.
• Innovate and build QE automation tools and platforms with the goal of high automation and reduced regression tests.
• Build functional testing tools and frameworks and enhance existing automation platforms.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop schedules, execute test plans, and deliver high-quality products.
• Advocate for quality in the software development process and contribute to QE process improvements.
