Job summary

Gcore is hiring a QA Automation Engineer to drive quality through automated testing for backend services and APIs. You will build scalable test automation frameworks, develop internal tools, and integrate testing into CI/CD pipelines while collaborating with developers, DevOps, and product teams.

You should bring strong Python skills, experience in automation frameworks, Linux, Docker, and modern CI/CD practices, with a proactive mindset toward AI-assisted testing and incident analysis.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in QA Automation (Middle) or 5+ years (Senior)
  • Strong Python programming skills
  • Experience developing and maintaining automated test frameworks
  • Solid understanding of software testing methodologies and QA processes
  • Linux administration and troubleshooting experience
  • Experience with Docker and containerized environments
  • Experience with CI/CD systems (GitLab CI, Jenkins, GitHub Actions)
  • Understanding of REST APIs and client-server architecture
  • Ability to read technical documentation in English
  • Experience using AI-assisted development and LLMs to accelerate test development

Our QA Automation team is responsible for ensuring product quality through automated testing, development of testing infrastructure, and continuous improvement of engineering processes. We build and maintain automation frameworks, develop internal tools, integrate quality controls into CI/CD pipelines, and work closely with development and platform teams to improve reliability, scalability, and release confidence across our products. As part of the team, you will contribute not only to test automation but also to the development of engineering solutions that help improve product quality and team productivity.

Job Description

About the role:

We are looking for a skilled QA Automation Engineer to drive quality assurance initiatives through the design, development, and maintenance of automated testing solutions for backend services and APIs. In this role, you will build scalable test automation frameworks, develop internal quality tools, and integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines to ensure reliable and efficient software delivery.

You will work closely with developers, DevOps engineers, and product teams to improve product quality, increase test coverage, andoptimizeautomation execution. The ideal candidate has strong Python development skills, hands‑on experience with automation frameworks, Linux environments, containerization technologies, and modern CI/CD practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain automated test suites for backend services and APIs

Qualifications

  • Solid understanding of software testing methodologies, QA processes, and test design techniques
  • Strong Linux administration and troubleshooting skills
  • Practical experience with Docker and containerized environments
  • Experience working with CI/CD systems (GitLab CI, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar)
  • Understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, TLS, REST APIs, and client-server architecture
  • Experience with API testing, UI testing, and backend validation
  • Ability to read and work with technical documentation in English
  • Ability to effectively leverage AI agents for code generation, debugging, test development, log analysis, and productivity improvements
  • Experience using LLMs to accelerate test case creation, automation development, and incident investigation
