Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a QA Supervisor to oversee scheduling, training, and performance decisions within the QA team. You will coach staff, manage shift transitions, and drive quality and safety programs.

Responsibilities include preparing QA reports on testing results, ensuring regulatory compliance, and communicating policies to employees across levels. This role requires strong leadership and effective written and verbal communication.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in food science or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong planning, organizing, coordinating and leadership abilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
  • Experience working with employees at all levels.

Job description

Job Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for a variety of supervisory activities including scheduling, training, coaching, and making recommendations to the QA Supervisor about performance, hiring and termination decisions.

  • Participate in the transitions between shifts and communicate key information to peers, team members and Production Management.

  • Prepare a variety of routine and special reports that document testing activities, test results, and operational issues involving product quality and safety such as swab tests, finished product tests, and HACCP audits.

  • Ensure operational compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements in the areas of safety, employment, quality, work rules, good manufacturing practices, hazard analysis and critical control points, and others as established by communicating requirements to employees, validating understanding and correcting behavior as required.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Experience & Skills:
  • Planning, organizing, coordinating and leadership skills.

  • Computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).

  • Ability to work with employees at all levels of the organization.

  • Strong problem solving, and decision-making skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both written and verbally.

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in food science, or a related field, or equivalent amount of relevant experience and education.

Compensation/Benefits:

We are committed to fair and transparent pay practices. The hourly pay range for this position is $25.38 to $38.07 per hour. The final hourly rate offered will be based on factors such as relevant experience, skills, education, internal equity, and market considerations.

Additional Compensation:

This position may also be eligible for overtime pay, shift differentials, and/or bonus opportunities, as applicable.
