Job summary

Alcon is seeking a Quality & Regulatory Affairs professional to perform QC analyses, operate laboratory instrumentation, and ensure compliance with cGxP/GMP standards. The role supports investigations, data review, and continuous improvement across QA and manufacturing teams.

Responsibilities

• Perform qualitative and quantitative chemical analyses on materials and samples
• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot lab instrumentation
• Ensure compliance with SOPs, cGxP/GMP and regulatory requirements
• Collect, analyze, interpret, and report test results
• Maintain compliant documentation (GDP/GMP)
• Support laboratory investigations and root-cause analysis
• Review data for accuracy and completeness
• Update ATPs and lab SOPs
• Support environmental monitoring and utility sampling
• Collaborate with production, engineering and quality teams
• Contribute to continuous improvement and ISO 14001 compliance
• Train teammates on procedures and best practices

This role is part of Alcon's Quality & Regulatory Affairs function, a team that ensures our products are in compliance with global, local, and internal regulations and meet the strictest standards of quality as we help people see brilliantly.

Specifics Include:

• Perform qualitative and quantitative chemical analyses on raw materials, in-process, finished goods, and stability samples
• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation and equipment
• Ensure compliance with SOPs, cGxP/GMP standards, and regulatory requirements
• Accurately collect, analyze, interpret, and report test results
• Maintain thorough and compliant documentation (GDP/GMP practices)
• Support laboratory investigations, including investigative testing and root cause analysis
• Review and verify data generated by peers for accuracy and completeness
• Update and maintain SOPs, analytical test procedures (ATPs), and lab documentation
• Support environmental monitoring and utility sampling as required
• Collaborate cross-functionally with production, engineering, and quality teams
• Contribute to continuous improvement, safety practices, and ISO 14001 environmental compliance
• Train team members in procedures, methods, and best practices as needed

WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO ALCON:

• Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +8 yrs; Assoc.+4 yrs)
• The ability to fluently read, write, understand, and communicate in English
• Work Hours: 1st Shift: Monday - Friday: 8:00 AM CST - 5:00 PM CST

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

• Degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related field
