Job summary

NYSTEC is seeking a QA Analyst to join the Technology Procurement & Implementation Services practice in Albany, NY. You will collaborate with business analysts, developers, and QA counterparts to understand requirements, inform strategic test planning, and ensure thorough testing of the entire system.

As a NYSTEC consultant, you will create and execute test cases, document findings, work on mitigation strategies and regression testing under guidance of a QA lead.

Qualifications

• Must have knowledge of SDLC and agile methodologies with hands‑on functional testing experience.
• Experience in preparing test documentation including test plans, test cases, and RTMs.
• Ability to write and test acceptance criteria and understand user stories.
• Hands‑on experience using Gherkin for BDD testing (or TDD alternative).
• Ability to troubleshoot and debug test automation failures.
• Attention to detail and ability to multi‑task across cross‑functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Support project implementations via thorough test planning, design, and execution validating requirements.
• Analyze and plan test requirements and QA activities, including documentation and execution.
• Proactively identify risks and present them to the team for discussion.
• Maintain a single repository of requirements and test cases and develop and execute manual and automated test scripts.
• Be flexible to work on ad hoc test activities within a short span of time.
