Job summary

Valeris, Inc. is seeking an IT QA Analyst in Morrisville, NC to execute test cases and review projects developed by the technology group. The role collaborates with internal IT and business users to ensure new features function as intended and to assess risks.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of software testing, can write and execute test plans, and is proficient with Selenium, SQL, and Jira within an Agile environment. Strong attention to detail is essential.

Qualifications

• 4-year college degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (strongly preferred).
• 3–5 years’ software testing experience, including test plan creation and defect tracking (strongly preferred).
• Experience using Selenium or another automated testing/scripting platform.
• Ability to build and execute basic SQL queries.
• Working knowledge of Jira or other Agile tools.
• Solid analytical and troubleshooting skills with a thorough approach to problem solving.
• Ability to read, write, and interpret technical documents.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Independently conduct QA testing and analysis on custom applications and reporting technologies.
• Ensure applications and systems function properly and meet business standards and end-user specs.
• Manage multiple testing projects and adapt quickly to new apps and systems.

Job Summary

The IT QA Analyst is responsible for executing test cases and reviewing projects created and modified by the technology group. In this role, the analyst works collaboratively with internal IT and business users to ensure new features work as intended. The analyst analyzes system requirements, creates test cases, and assists with risk assessments. Projects involve interacting with clients, IT, business operations personnel, and offshore teams. Attention to detail and thoroughness are key prerequisites.

Key Responsibilities

• Independently conduct quality assurance testing and analysis on custom applications and reporting technologies.
• Ensure that applications and systems function properly and meet business standards and end‑user specifications and requirements.
• Manage multiple testing projects simultaneously and adapt quickly to new applications and systems.
• Participate in QA testing and analysis on more complex or enterprise projects to ensure robust application systems.
• Script test cases for new releases and regression testing of custom applications and reporting.
• Work with IT team members to resolve defects and retest applications.
• Assist operations personnel in understanding the application and explaining test cases.
• Create and track QA metrics for testing effectiveness.
• Adhere to corporate training deadlines and ensure all SOPs are followed consistently.
• Perform additional tasks or projects as assigned.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

The position requires regular talking and hearing. The employee frequently sits for long periods, uses hands to type, handle, and feel objects, and reaches with hands and arms. Candidates should be able to type at least 35 words per minute with 97% accuracy. Travel may be required at a minimal level. The job operates in a professional office environment using standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiers.
