Job summary

Jobtailor is looking for a Software Engineer in Baltimore to design, develop, and deploy IT solutions. You will work closely with quants, portfolio managers, and analysts to gather requirements and craft robust tests, APIs, and CI/CD workflows.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of progressive experience working with Python.
• Hands-on experience with AWS services such as ECS, Fargate, Lambda, SNS, SQS, S3, DynamoDB, Application Load Balancers, CloudFront, CloudWatch, IAM, and others.
• Experience with Python frameworks and tools (e.g., NumPy, Pandas).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a results-oriented mindset.
• Familiarity with multiple programming paradigms (object-oriented, functional) and solid grasp of software design patterns.
• Dedication to quality through automated testing, code reviews, and continuous integration/delivery.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, adapt, and implement IT solutions.
• Collaborate with Quants, PMs, and Analysts to define requirements and testing strategies.
• Review and interpret system requirements and business processes.
• Contribute hands-on to coding, testing, debugging, and deployment.
• Utilize internal tools to manage AWS-based services.
• Integrate with RESTful and GRPC APIs.
• Contribute to unit and integration testing and maintain CI/CD pipeline.
• Mentor junior team members.
