Job Title: Python Developer Pharmaceutical Applications

Location: 100% remote

Department: IT / Data Science

Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Python Developer with a background in the pharmaceutical industry to support the enhancement and maintenance of existing software applications, as well as the development of new features and tools. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in Python programming, experience working with databases such as Oracle and SQL, and familiarity with industry standards such as SDTM and Annotated CRFs.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze, maintain, and enhance existing Python modules and packages.
• Develop new software components to meet evolving business needs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including clinical data, biostatistics, and IT.
• Ensure software components align with pharmaceutical industry standards (e.g., SDTM).
• Perform database queries and updates using SQL and Oracle tools.
• Act as a subject matter expert (SME) in Python-based application development.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve software issues with a problem-solving mindset.
• Work independently while providing timely updates to project leads and stakeholders.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Core Essential Skill Sets:

• Python programming proficiency 3 to 4 years of hands-on experience.
• Pharmaceutical industry experience 1 to 3 years.
• Strong understanding of SDTM and Annotated Case Report Forms (CRFs).
• Experience working with relational databases (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server).
• Ability to comprehend and enhance existing codebases.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Self-starter who can work independently and serve as an SME on Python-related tasks.

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science (preferred) or a relevant technical discipline.

• Familiarity with clinical trial data standards and regulatory requirements.
• Experience in the development of software tools for clinical research or data management.
• Exposure to cloud-based environments or tools (e.g., AWS, Azure).
