About this role

We are looking for a skilled Python GIS, Imagery, and Mapping Specialist / Developer to design, develop, and implement geospatial solutions for industrial applications. You will be working on projects that involve the analysis and visualization of geospatial data, integrating AI, and building advanced mapping tools for industries like logistics, agriculture, and energy.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Geospatial Sciences, Computer Science, or a related field.
2-5 years of experience in GIS development, geospatial analysis, or related roles.
Previous experience with industrial applications is a plus.

Responsibilities

  1. Geospatial Application Development: Design and develop Python-based GIS applications and tools. Integrate and optimize geospatial data processing workflows.
  2. Satellite Imagery and Remote Sensing: Process and analyze satellite imagery and raster data. Utilize machine learning models for imagery classification and object detection.
  3. Mapping and Visualization: Build interactive mapping solutions using libraries like Folium, Plotly, or Dash. Develop web mapping applications with frameworks like Leaflet.js or Mapbox.
  4. Data Management: Manage and manipulate geospatial databases (e.g., PostGIS, GeoServer). Work with vector and raster datasets in formats like GeoJSON, Shapefiles, and TIFF.
  5. Collaboration and Integration: Collaborate with AI/ML teams to integrate geospatial insights into predictive analytics solutions. Ensure seamless deployment of geospatial tools in cloud environments (AWS, Azure).

Expertise and Capabilities

  1. Programming: Proficiency in Python with experience in libraries like Geopandas, Rasterio, Fiona, Shapely, Pyproj, etc.
  2. GIS Tools: Familiarity with QGIS, ArcGIS, or other desktop GIS platforms.
  3. Imagery: Hands-on experience with remote sensing tools and libraries (e.g., GDAL, Sentinel Hub, Earth Engine API).
  4. Mapping: Expertise in creating interactive maps with tools like Plotly, Leaflet, or OpenLayers.
  5. Databases: Strong knowledge of spatial databases like PostGIS or MongoDB with geospatial extensions.
  6. Cloud & Deployment: Experience with cloud-based geospatial solutions and APIs like Google Maps, OpenStreetMap, or Mapbox.
  7. Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  8. Ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  9. Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
