Job summary

Programmers.io in Redmond, WA is seeking a hardware validation and test automation engineer with strong Python skills to drive in-band/out-of-band management testing, Power Shell scripting, and system-level debugging across demanding server hardware platforms.

You will collaborate with hardware, software, and program stakeholders to bring up NPI, perform stress and reliability tests, and contribute to firmware/ BIOS / BMC interaction troubleshooting in a data-center environment.

Primary Skills required: Python, NPI Program, Power Shell, CPLD, JBOD, OEM, HW System, Firmware/ BIOS / BMC interaction

Mandatory skills:

• Proficient with Python
• Understanding of in-band vs out-of-band management (BMC, Redfish, IPMI, etc.)
• Ability to handle large-scale hardware validation and test execution
• Strong skills in debugging, root cause analysis, and log analysis
• Ability to build scripts for test execution, environment setup, and log analysis
• Strong understanding of server hardware architecture
• Good communication and cross-team collaboration skills

Add-on-Skills:

• Proficient with PowerShell script-based development for automation
• Knowledge of platform components and concepts such as CPLD, JBOD, and system interconnects
• Experience in stress, performance, and reliability testing
• Ability to work in customer-facing(OEM) / partner-facing roles
• Experience in HW system engineering, bring-up, and validation
• Knowledge of firmware / BIOS / BMC interaction and system-level debugging
• Hands-on experience in data center (DC) environments
• Provide ops support (DC + NPI), live issue triage, and escalation handling

• Exposure to Ansible / container-based orchestration frameworks is preferred.
