Job summary

Austin Telco Federal Credit Union is seeking a Programmer Analyst II with strong Python experience to develop and support critical technology systems, troubleshoot complex issues, and maintain reliable performance at our Austin campus. This role focuses on core system administration and development of Symitar applications, with opportunities to mentor junior staff and contribute to continuous improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• Three to five years of software development experience.
• Strong proficiency in Python.
• Knowledge of SDLC methodologies (Waterfall or Agile).
• Strong communication and multitasking skills.
• Ability to work nights or weekends for month-end/quarter-end processing.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, troubleshoot, and configure the Symitar system to ensure availability.
• Develop and maintain Symitar core banking apps and utilities.
• Identify inefficiencies and optimize performance.
• Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 support for Symitar and other critical applications.
• Mentor junior staff and collaborate cross-functionally.
• Participate in AML/BSA compliance training and on-call support.
