To perform all job duties involved in rigging up slings, shackles, etc. used to lift/install/move materials (a pipe, plate, etc.) or structures, equipment, or material’s Offshore locations or Offsite locations, including load-outs safely and efficiently, while protect the reputation of Spark Safety & support the welfare of the team. Direct prior offshore rigger experience required.

Main Purpose:

To perform all job duties involved in rigging up slings, shackles, etc. used to lift/install/move materials (a pipe, plate, etc.) or structures, equipment, or material’s Offshore locations or Offsite locations, including load-outs safely and efficiently, while protect the reputation of Spark Safety & support the welfare of the team. Direct prior offshore rigger experience required.

Essential Functions

  • Work safely and comply with all Spark, GIS, Client & Regulatory safety policies & procedures
  • Effective installation of Spark PWE Panels & FR Barriers in accordance with Spark PWE Procedures
  • Coordinate crane activity for transport materials to jobsite
  • Assist with the installation of Scaffolding in accordance with the GIS scaffold safety program
  • Assist crane operators by hooking up slings and loading cables to materials or structures as required
  • Report all defective PWE / FRC equipment & materials (enclosure panels, leads & extension cords, gas detectors, etc.) & rigging equipment (slings, shackles, etc.) to the PWE Supervisor immediately
  • Install rigging on loads to maneuver over, under, or around obstacles, using multi-point suspension techniques
  • Assist in cleaning up work areas as needed (personal areas) before beginning lift or loadout operations
  • Assist in controlling the movement of heavy equipment through narrow openings or confined spaces, using chain falls beam clamps, cable/nylon slings, and other certified lifting equipment
  • Rig-up equipment and materials that are scheduled to go on or leave offshore vessels and platforms
  • Assist welders and fitters in grinding, buffing, rigging, etc.
  • Properly rig slings to ensure proper alignment of load before moving the freight
  • Give hand signal directions to crane operators during lift operations
  • Actively participate in behavioral based safety (observation card) programs
  • Perform all duties safely utilizing all required PPE
  • Utilize proper tools for each task and store all items in designated locations
  • Initiate SWA (Stop Work Authority) if an at-risk condition or behavior is observed
  • Report ALL at-risk worksite conditions to Supervisor
  • Perform other duties assigned by supervisor

Job Requirements

  • 2+ years Prior Offshore experience

Desirable Experience, Education, And Training

Tools, Equipment, And Technology

  • Slings, shackles, chain falls beam clamps, cable/nylon slings, and all other certified lifting equipment
  • Any other tools requested for use by supervisor

Environmental Conditions

80 to 90% of the work activities are performed outdoors. Individuals will be required to work in changes of temperature, hot, cold, humid, wet, and dry conditions, dust, mud, etc. They may also be exposed to fumes (Paint, paint thinners, diesel,/or gas, etc.)
