Job summary

Pratt & Whitney in Bridgeport, WV is seeking an Assembly Technician for PW800 engine line on the 2nd shift (Mon-Thu, 3:30pm-1:30am). Responsibilities include sub-assembly, balancing, main assembly and packing of engines in overhaul.

The role requires a High School diploma or GED and an active Powerplant license. Training may occur on another shift for up to 6 months.

Qualifications

• Prior experience working on Pratt & Whitney engines preferred.

What You Will Do

Are you a “read the instructions” kind of person? Do you enjoy putting together puzzles and using your hands? Our assembler position will allow you to apply both traits while impacting the future of flight. You will be responsible for a key role in our process and ensure EH&S and quality standards are kept. Responsibilities would be in one or more of the following areas: sub-assembly, balancing, main assembly and packing of engines in the repair and overhaul area.

This position services our PW800 line, which is the newest engine model in our facility. You will work on our 2nd shift, which is Monday-Thursday from 3:30pm-1:30am. Training may take place on another shift for up to 6 months before moving into 2nd shift.

Pratt & Whitney in Bridgeport, WV is a FAA regulated facility and as such under the U.S. Departments of Transportation’s Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). This position is considered safety sensitive in accordance with FAA Guidelines. Candidate will be subject to drug and alcohol testing per FAA’s regulation 14 CFR part 120, as well as 49 CFR part 40.

Qualifications You Must Have

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Active Powerplant license at the time of hire

Qualifications We Prefer

• 3+ years specialized training in aviation maintenance, assembly or test of gas turbine engines or similar aircraft systems.
• Prior experience working on P&W engines.
• Knowledge of aircraft engine assembly procedures including fits and tolerances, use of precision measuring instruments and gauges, hand tools, special assembly equipment and the ability to work from complicated drawings and specifications.
