Pratt & Whitney in Bridgeport, WV is seeking an Assembly Technician on the PW300 & PW500 lines for the second shift (Mon-Thu 3:30pm-1:30am). You will assemble engines, work from manuals, and ensure EH&S and quality standards are met to support aircraft manufacturing.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, and an active Powerplant license is preferred. You will use hand tools, gauges, and special tooling while meeting daily targets in a safety‑driven aviation environment.

What You Will Do

Are you a “read the instructions” kind of person? Do you enjoy putting together puzzles and using your hands? Our Assembly Technician role will allow you to apply both traits while impacting the future of flight. You will be responsible for a key role in our process and ensure EH&S and quality standards are kept. Responsibilities would be in one or more of the following areas: sub-assembly, balancing, main assembly and packing of engines in the repair and overhaul area.

This position will service our PW300 & PW500 lines. You will work on our 2nd shift, which is Monday-Thursday from 3:30pm-1:30am. Training may take place on a different shift for up to 6 months before moving into 2nd shift.

Pratt & Whitney in Bridgeport, WV is a FAA regulated facility and as such under the U.S. Departments of Transportation’s Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). This position is considered safety sensitive in accordance with FAA Guidelines. Candidate will be subject to drug and alcohol testing per FAA’s regulation 14 CFR part 120, as well as 49 CFR part 40.

Key Responsibilities

• Work from manuals, service bulletins and other technical instructions.

• Coordinate parts, consumables and non-product material movements.
• Function as an Assembly tech to ensure standard work and standard methodologies are accomplished while assuring daily targets are met.
• Be fully engaged to support all Continuous Improvement, Quality, EH&S, and overall Operations initiatives and policies to meet company goals.
• Perform other related duties as assigned and refer team challenges to Supervisor.

Qualifications You Must Have

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Active Powerplant license at the time of hire

Qualifications We Prefer

• 3+ years specialized training in aviation maintenance, assembly or test of gas turbine engines or similar aircraft systems.
• Prior experience working on P&W engines.
• Knowledge of aircraft engine assembly procedures including fits and tolerances, use of precision measuring instruments and gauges, hand tools, special assembly equipment and the ability to work from complicated drawings and specifications.
