Job summary

Ionbond is hiring a PVD/CVD Coatings Production Technician in Chicago, IL. You will transform customer-owned components for aerospace, automotive, decorative, and industrial use using advanced surface technologies.

A $600 hiring bonus is offered for new team members, with shifts Monday–Friday 7:00 AM–3:30 PM or 3:00 PM–11:30 PM. You will review orders, prepare parts via blasting, cleaning, stripping, and fixturing, and work with machine operators to load/unload products.

Qualifications

• Background in manufacturing or a similar environment (2+ years preferred).
• Mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting aptitude is a plus.
• Comfort with manufacturing tools and production equipment.
• Strong critical thinking and clear communication.
• Dexterity for careful handling of precision components.
• Ability to read instructions in English and interpret documents as small as 8-point font.
• Comfort sitting and/or standing throughout an 8-hour shift.

Responsibilities

What your day looks like

• Start by reviewing work orders and quality criteria, aligning each task to customer specifications and internal production standards.
• Prepare parts through hands‑on steps such as blasting, cleaning, stripping, and fixturing—always handling precision‑machined parts with care.
• Collaborate with machine operators; load and unload customer products into assigned equipment and assist adjacent teams as needed.
• De‑fixture batches after processing and carry out basic visual inspection to confirm results meet quality expectations.
• Support other production needs and special assignments as required.

• Applicants may begin on a contingent basis via a staffing service. Conversion to full‑time, regular status typically occurs between 90-180 days, dependent on production needs and performance.
