James Hardie, a leader in exterior home solutions, seeks a Senior Polymer Scientist/Engineer to own PVC materials technology from formulation design through manufacturing implementation. This position can be based at our Wilmington, OH or Fontana, CA plant.

You will develop PVC formulations, support extrusion and compounding, perform DSC/TGA/DMA and rheology tests, and drive projects with cross‑functional teams. Travel ~25% domestic.

Formación

• PhD in Polymer Science, Polymer Engineering, Materials Science, or Chemical Engineering with 1–5 years of experience, or MS with 3–7 years.
• Strong fundamental knowledge of polymer chemistry and polymer engineering.
• Experience in AI assisted material characterizations and formulation development for composite materials.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Travel –25% (mainly domestic)

Responsabilidades

• Develop, optimize, and evaluate PVC formulations, including base resins, stabilizers, lubricants, impact modifiers, process aids, fillers, and pigments.
• Support PVC extrusion and compounding processes; troubleshoot surface defects and throughput issues.
• Design and execute experimental plans using DSC, TGA, DMA, rheometry and environmental tests.
• Plan and manage technical projects with defined scope and milestones.
• Collaborate with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
