Johns Manville is seeking a production worker to operate equipment, maintain a safe and clean work environment, and support PVC fittings production. The role requires a High School diploma or GED and reliability in a fast-paced plant setting.

Responsibilities include following supervisor instructions, using PPE, and reporting abnormalities. The position offers competitive hourly pay with potential shift premiums and benefits as part of a manufacturing team.

Compensation

The base hourly rate for this position is $18.70.

Job Objective

Responsible for preforming all duties on a professional level and complying with the Production Superintendent, under direct supervision of the Shift Supervisor. Working from general instructions from the plant management team, and all levels within the organization in support of the four Johns Manville core values: People, Passion, Performance, and Protection.

Shift: 2pm - 10:30pm Rate: $20.36

Your Day to Day

Supports and promotes safe practices and environmental commitments in alignment with company commitments, policies, and compliance requirements. Show initiative in supporting safety, plant wide. Participate on committees as required. Ensures that all Housekeeping & 5S areas of responsibility have been completed before end of shift and keeps equipment, work areas and other prescribed areas clean and orderly at all times. Wears all required and proper PPE. Operates a lift truck or other material handling equipment in servicing production as required (must be properly licensed). Uses safe work practices and reports hazardous conditions at all times to supervisor. Complete computer-based training and all other programs needed to stay in compliance with company policy’s. Receives and follows verbal and written instructions from supervisor or leader. Prepares production reports as directed or required. Must be able to operate the comet and the table saw Take Off- Remove form PVC fittings from table saw and place them on the next table which is the band saw. Flip the PVC fittings at the table Trimming PVC fittings with hand scissors to the correct lengths Reports equipment malfunctions, operation delays, or product defects immediately to supervisor or leader. Conducts all Cut & Curl tasks independently and at set production rate Prepares production reports as directed or required. Performs molding operation for PVC fittings, on unit or line as directed. Inspect fittings for obvious defects-surface, thickness, other as directed- a beginning of shift, and throughout the production run. Operate Horizontal Band Saw & Small Mike Thermoformer Cross trained in either the 300 room, Inline, or Comet Floor Grinder start/stop Assist with Horizontal blade change

What you bring to the table

High School diploma or GED Flexible in work and assignments Effective interpersonal and communication skills, ability to work in team-based environment, flexibility, the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment in a safe manor, demonstrated ability to handle multiple priorities during the course of the day.

Physical Demands

Must be able to stand for long periods of time on cement floors Must be able to walk, stoop, kneel and climb ladders and staircases. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs as required.
