Job summary

SIMONA America seeks a PVC/Fluoropolymers Process Coordinator to lead safe, efficient production operations across PVC and fluoropolymers areas. You will establish accountability for performance, quality, safety, and process discipline while coordinating with Quality, R&D, Maintenance, and EHS to meet customer requirements.

You will develop training programs, ensure staff are qualified, and drive continuous improvement through standardized processes and KPI monitoring.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, Engineering, Operations Management, Polymer Science, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of manufacturing experience, preferably within plastics extrusion, PVC, fluoropolymers, compounding, or a related manufacturing environment.
• Experience working in a quality-driven manufacturing environment required.
• Experience supporting highly regulated, technical, or customer‑critical markets, including semiconductor applications, is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide oversight of PVC and Fluoropolymers production operations.
• Establish clear accountability for production performance, quality, safety, housekeeping, training, and process compliance within the assigned areas.
• Monitor production performance and identify opportunities to improve throughput, efficiency, yield, scrap, downtime, and overall equipment effectiveness.
• Review production issues, determine root causes, and ensure corrective actions are assigned, implemented, and followed through to completion.
• Ensure production priorities are clearly communicated and appropriately coordinated across shifts.
• Support production planning and scheduling activities to ensure customer requirements and business priorities are met.
• Establish and monitor key performance indicators for the PVC/Fluoropolymers operation.
• Drive consistent execution of established manufacturing processes and standards across all shifts.
• Ensure employees follow approved operating procedures, work instructions, process parameters, quality requirements, and safety practices.
• Identify gaps or inconsistencies in current processes and work cross-functionally to develop sustainable improvements.
• Partner with R&D, Quality, and Operations to ensure process changes and new formulations are effectively transitioned into production.
• Support standardization of production practices to reduce variation and improve product consistency
• Develop and maintain a structured training approach for employees assigned to PVC and Fluoropolymers operations.
• Ensure employees are properly trained and qualified before independently performing assigned production responsibilities.
• Identify employee skill gaps and establish development and cross-training plans.
• Work with Operations and HR to maintain training documentation, qualification requirements, and skills matrices.
• Coach employees on performance, process compliance, quality expectations, safety, and operational best practices.
• Assist in identifying employees with the potential to progress into higher-skilled production or leadership positions.
• Ensure compliance with applicable quality systems, procedures, specifications, and documentation requirements.
• Partner closely with Quality to investigate nonconformances, customer concerns, scrap, and recurring production issues.
• Participate in root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action activities.
• Ensure operating procedures and work instructions accurately reflect current production practices and are consistently followed.
• Support the development and revision of procedures as processes, equipment, products, or customer requirements change.
• Maintain awareness of the condition and performance of equipment supporting PVC and Fluoropolymers production.
• Partner with Maintenance to identify recurring equipment issues, prioritize repairs, and improve preventative maintenance effectiveness.
• Ensure equipment-related concerns are communicated, documented, and appropriately escalated.
• Participate in equipment improvement, replacement, and capital project discussions as appropriate.
• Help identify equipment conditions that negatively impact safety, quality, reliability, or production performance.
• Promote and enforce a strong safety culture within the PVC and Fluoropolymers areas.
• Ensure employees comply with PPE requirements, safe work practices, and applicable safety procedures.
• Maintain high expectations for housekeeping, organization, and workplace conditions.
• Partner with EHS and Operations leadership to identify and correct unsafe conditions and behaviors.
• Participate in safety investigations and ensure corrective actions are implemented within the assigned areas.
• Serve as the primary production liaison for PVC/Fluoropolymers activities involving R&D, Quality, Maintenance, Material Management, EHS, and other departments.
• Coordinate with R&D on formulations, trials, new products, process changes, and production readiness.
• Work with Material Management to address raw material availability, handling, inventory, and production requirements.
• Partner with Quality to ensure customer and product requirements are understood and consistently achieved.
• Partner with Maintenance to prioritize equipment reliability and production support needs.

The PVC/Fluoropolymers Process Coordinator is responsible for the safe, consistent, and efficient operation of the PVC and Fluoropolymers production areas. This role provides dedicated leadership and accountability for production performance, process discipline, employee training, quality, safety, equipment reliability, and continuous improvement. This position works cross-functionally with Operations, Quality, R&D, Maintenance, Material Management, and EHS to improve performance and ensure production and customer requirements are consistently achieved.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Production Performance

Work Environment

This position operates primarily within a manufacturing environment and requires regular presence on the production floor. The employee will routinely work around manufacturing equipment, moving machinery, raw materials, and production processes and must comply with all required PPE and safety requirements.

The position requires sufficient flexibility to support a multi‑shift manufacturing operation and may require occasional support outside of normal working hours based on production needs.

Physical Demands

This position requires regular presence in a manufacturing environment. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, bend, reach, and move throughout production areas. The position may require lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds and the use of required personal protective equipment (PPE). Position Type / Expected Hours

This is a full‑time position. Standard hours are generally Monday through Friday; however, this position supports a 24/7 manufacturing operation and requires flexibility to work outside of normal business hours, including occasional nights and weekends, based on production and operational needs.

Travel

Minimal travel is expected for this position. Occasional travel may be required for training, meetings, or visits to other company locations.
