Qualifications

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelor of Pharmacy required.
  • Active and unrestricted pharmacist license in Florida.

Responsibilities

  • PV2 prescription verification for accuracy, safety and compliance.
  • Adhere to federal, state, and local regulations (DEA/FDA) and maintain records.
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies to ensure medication safety prior to fulfillment.
  • Collaborate with technicians, PV1 pharmacists and fulfillment staff to ensure smooth operations.
  • Monitor productivity metrics to align with pharmacy goals and efficiency benchmarks.
  • Troubleshoot prescription processing and verification systems during the midnight shift.
  • Provide end-of-shift updates to incoming team for continuity.

Job Summary

The Pharmacist is a critical role in ensuring accurate, timely, and regulatory-compliant verification of prescriptions processed during the shift. This position focuses on the second stage of prescription verification (PV2), providing a final review before fulfillment and shipment to patients. The PV2 Pharmacist must work efficiently in a high-volume production environment while maintaining exceptional attention to detail and adherence to state and federal pharmacy regulations.


This role requires strong organizational skills, the ability to work independently, and a commitment to operational excellence to support the pharmacy's 24/7 fulfillment model. This position offers the flexibility to transition into a senior management roles based on the employee's performance and capabilities.


Essential Functions and Responsibilities


  • Prescription Verification: perform PV2 verification of prescriptions to ensure accuracy, safety, and compliance with legal requirements

  • Regulatory Compliance: Adhere to all federal, state, and local regulations, including DEA and FDA guidelines, while maintaining accurate records

  • Quality Assurance: Identify and resolve discrepancies or issues in prescriptions to ensure medication safety and accuracy before fulfillment

  • Collaboration: Work closely with pharmacy technicians, PV1 pharmacists, and fulfillment staff to ensure smooth operations during the shift

  • Metrics Tracking: Monitor and maintain productivity metrics to align with pharmacy goals and efficiency benchmarks

  • Operational Support: Assist in troubleshooting any issues related to prescription processing, verification systems, or workflow interruptions during the midnight shift

  • Communication: Provide end-of-shift updates to the incoming team to ensure seamless transitions and continuity of operations


Qualifications


  • Education: Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelor of Pharmacy degree required

  • Licensure: Must hold an active and unrestricted pharmacist license in Florida. Additional state licenses are a plus

  • Experience: new grads are welcome to apply

  • Proficiency in pharmacy software systems and verification tools

Work Environment

This role operates in a fast-paced mail order pharmacy setting. It requires long periods of standing, working at computer stations, and occasionally lifting or moving items up to 25 lbs. The shift operates in a controlled environment designed to optimize productivity while ensuring regulatory compliance.


Cognitive and Physical Demands


  • Cognitive: High attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to focus during extended shifts.

  • Physical: Ability to stand, walk, and perform repetitive tasks for long periods. May require manual handling of medications and equipment as needed.


Schedule


  • 9:00 p.m. - 06.00 a.m.

  • 3:00 p.m. - 12:00 a.m


Overnight shift may be offered based on candidate's availability and business needs. This schedule requires flexibility to accommodate pharmacy operations and meet patient demands.


Job Type

Full-time, 40 hours per week, from Monday to Friday, 100% On Site
