Job summary

Akima Infrastructure Services (AIS) is seeking an experienced electromechanical technologist to support photovoltaic (PV) power systems research. The role involves mechanical assembly, electrical work, and data acquisition tasks, with on-site duties and periodic outdoor work.

Candidates should be able to lift heavy test devices and operate in lab and field environments. The position requires familiarity with LOTO procedures and the ability to obtain a DOE L-level security clearance.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in electronics/electro-mechanical tech or equivalent.
• Experience in lab tasks: test setup, equipment operation, data collection.
• Experience with mechanical assembly and common hand tools.
• Experience with DAS, lab instrumentation, and data management.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE L-level security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Operate indoor PV characterization tools.
• Support outdoor PV system installation, instrumentation, and maintenance.
• Work in laboratory and outdoor settings.
• Monitor experiments and record observations.
• Support documentation for scientific reports and publications.
• Must be able to work onsite.
