Job summary

TELYON in Old Saybrook, CT is seeking a PV System Design Engineer to expand capabilities across system investigations and design. The engineer will report to the Director of Engineering and collaborate with pre-construction, design, procurement, and construction teams on commercial rooftop and ground mount solar projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
• 3–5+ years of direct C&I Solar PV design engineering experience.
• PE license or Engineer-In-Training with a defined path to pursue a PE within two years preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design layouts and electrical diagrams for rooftop and ground-mount solar arrays using Helioscope, AutoCAD, PVsyst.
• Oversee engineering of specific projects including design specs, equipment selection, interconnection and permitting.
• Review interconnection and facilities studies and ensure code compliance.
• Maintain knowledge of building codes, new technologies, and industry trends.
• Update and maintain engineering standards and best practices.
• Review drawings for optimal, code-compliant designs.
• Perform energy production modeling and create single-line diagrams.
• Identify and qualify consulting partners and manage external relationships.
• Provide technical support through development, permitting, construction, and O&M.
