Position Specific Description

This position will be based in Dessert Center, CA.

The PV Solar & Battery Technician III will play a crucial role in supporting the operations and maintenance of NextEra Energy's photovoltaic (PV) solar and battery storage systems at Desert Sunlight located near Desert Center, California. As a member of the Operations and Maintenance (O&M) team, the technician will be responsible for ensuring optimal performance and reliability of clean energy systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct routine preventive maintenance activities on solar panels, battery storage systems, and associated equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and undertake corrective maintenance to identify and resolve system issues, ensuring maximum system uptime and efficiency.
  • Adhere to maintenance schedules and follow established procedures for inspections, cleaning, lubrication, and component replacements.
  • Utilize monitoring software and tools to regularly monitor and analyze system performance, identifying deviations and inefficiencies.
  • Generate performance reports and maintain accurate records of system performance, including energy production, equipment status, and maintenance activities.
  • Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for oneself and colleagues.
  • Adhere to environmental regulations and procedures during maintenance activities and waste management.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of O&M activities, including maintenance logs, work orders, and inventory records.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, team members, and other stakeholders regarding work progress, challenges, and recommendations.

Required Qualifications

  • Six Sigma Yellow Belt Certified

The estimated base pay for this position is $50,400.00 to $75,600.00 per year. Starting pay will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, experience, qualifications, job-related and industry knowledge and skills and education/training.
