Job summary

Jobtailor seeks an experienced IT Data Governance Specialist to manage Microsoft Purview and SharePoint Online governance in a CT-based environment. You will translate business requirements into technical controls and collaborate with analysts, cybersecurity, and compliance teams.

You will implement, monitor, and optimize Purview-related policies, labeling, and information protection, while supporting SharePoint and Microsoft 365 collaboration environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related discipline; or equivalent experience
• 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in Microsoft 365 administration, information protection, collaboration technologies, security controls, or related technical governance roles
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Purview, including information protection, labeling, governance-related capabilities, and policy administration
• Strong knowledge of SharePoint Online, Microsoft 365 collaboration controls
• Experience implementing or supporting Microsoft Purview, SharePoint security/configuration, or comparable information protection technologies preferred
• Familiarity with PowerShell, reporting tools, dashboards, or automation approaches is preferred

Responsibilities

• Serve as the technical subject matter resource for the IT Data Governance and Information Management Program
• Implement, configure, monitor, and continuously improve Microsoft Purview-related controls
• Translate governance and business requirements into enforceable technical configurations
• Partner with business analysts, program leadership, cybersecurity, and compliance teams
• Provide technical support and subject matter expertise for SharePoint, Microsoft 365 collaboration environments
• Monitor policy performance, investigate issues, track exceptions, and support remediation of control weaknesses
