Job summary

Kearney & Company is seeking a Cybersecurity Analyst to design, implement, and maintain information protection and data loss prevention (DLP) controls across the Microsoft environment. This role focuses on proactively identifying risks, enforcing security policies, and ensuring sensitive information is governed and protected.

Responsibilities include developing DLP policies with Purview, monitoring alerts across 365 and Azure, and conducting risk assessments to strengthen data protection.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience in a relevant field.
• At least 2 years of experience with Microsoft 365 security features, especially Purview Information Protection and DLP.
• Strong understanding of data classification, governance, and regulatory requirements.
• Familiarity with Azure AD, Conditional Access, and identity-driven security.
• Ability to interpret security alerts and logs and document findings.
• Excellent communication to translate technical controls for business teams.
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and optimize information protection and DLP policies using Microsoft Purview.
• Monitor security alerts related to data leakage and policy violations across Microsoft 365 and Azure.
• Conduct risk assessments to identify gaps in data protection controls.
• Partner with IT, compliance, and stakeholders to operationalize data protection policies.
• Manage and tune DLP rules to reduce false positives and improve detection.
• Support investigations into data security incidents with analysis and remediation.
• Oversee lifecycle management of sensitive data including retention and disposal.
• Create and deliver training to raise security awareness on data handling.
• Maintain expertise in Microsoft information protection tools and emerging threats.
