Qualifications

• Sysadmin background in IT operations and system management.
• Strong security fundamentals with relevant certifications.
• Understanding of penetration test methodology (recon, scanning, exploitation).
• US-based eligibility and EST/CST time-zone alignment.
• Bonus: automation experience, cloud security interest, home-lab tinkering.

Responsibilities

• Set up research environments and lab infrastructure leveraging your sysadmin background.
• Assist in purple team activities: simulate threats and document detection gaps.
• Perform data collection, log analysis, and vulnerability triaging to support senior researchers.
• Document research findings, scripts, and internal wikis with high quality.
• Engage in a structured growth path toward full security researcher responsibilities.
