Job Description

The Summer Activities Coordinator is responsible for planning, organizing, and leading recreational events and daily activities for guests throughout the summer season. This role involves maintaining recreational spaces such as sports courts and beach areas, organizing special events like waterskiing days, and engaging guests of all ages in fun, safe, and memorable experiences. The ideal candidate is creative, energetic, organized, and guest-focused with a strong commitment to safety and service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, schedule, and facilitate a variety of daily and weekly activities, including outdoor games, arts and crafts, water-based recreation, and themed events.
  • Set up, break down, and clean up for all scheduled activities and events.
  • Engage with guests in a friendly and professional manner to encourage participation and ensure a positive experience.
  • Organize and lead group outings such as guided hikes, kayak trips, and waterskiing days.
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety of recreational areas including beaches and sports courts.
  • Communicate activity changes and updates to administrative staff and guests.
  • Assist with inventory of supplies and ensure proper storage and usage.
  • Provide on-site support and coverage for shifts as needed.
  • Monitor and ensure guest safety during activities, enforcing rules and providing clear instruction on techniques and equipment use.
  • Proactively identify and address potential issues or guest concerns.
  • Attend regular check-ins with the GM to review departmental goals, guest satisfaction, and performance.
  • Report any damaged or unsafe equipment or areas to the GM promptly.

Qualifications

  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Entry-level; experience in recreation or hospitality preferred.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in varied weather conditions, including in the water and wooded areas.
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs., bend, reach, squat, and stand for prolonged periods.
  • Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Dependable and punctual.
  • Strong communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Team player with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
  • Able to work independently and take initiative.
  • Confident interacting with children, adults, and diverse personality types.
  • Ability to plan and lead age-appropriate and engaging activities.
  • Must follow safety protocols and maintain confidentiality as needed.
  • Proof of eligibility to work in the U.S.
