Job summary

The City of Santa Rosa's Purchasing & Stores Division in the Finance Department invites applications for the Purchasing Technician role. This journey level position performs technical purchasing work, supports departments, researches, and manages government solicitation processes.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years clerical or high-level admin support, with at least 1 year in purchasing, plus experience with Excel, databases, and multitasking across projects while communicating policy details

Qualifications

• Two (2) years of professional clerical/admin experience with at least 1 year in purchasing.
• Experience creating/modifying Excel spreadsheets, using databases for data entry, research and reports.
• Ability to manage multiple ongoing projects with deadlines and explain policies clearly.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and process assigned purchase requisitions.
• Maintain knowledge of government purchasing procedures and regulatory changes.
• Provide analysis for procurement items to replenish inventory and ensure cost-effectiveness.
• Identify vendors, obtain price quotes, and coordinate with suppliers on pricing and delivery.
