Job summary

TechniPower, Inc. in the St. Louis area is seeking a Purchasing Manager to handle sourcing of raw materials and components for custom machinery in a manufacturing setting.

This contract-to-permanent role requires on-site work and close collaboration with engineering and project management teams. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of purchasing experience in manufacturing, strong negotiation skills, and proficiency with ERP/MRP systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business or supply chain preferred or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of purchasing experience in manufacturing, automation or heavy metal fabrication environments.
• Familiarity with machining, fabrication, welding consumables and electrical components.
• Experience with ERP/MRP software in a job shop environment.
• Experience reading and understanding technical drawings.
• Experience with negotiation and total cost of ownership estimates.
• Strong experience identifying suppliers and managing vendor performance.
• Inventory control and planning experience.
• Contract management experience and understanding of legal terms and compliance.
• Collaborating with engineering and project management to review BOMs and drawings for quoting and purchasing.

Job description

I have a client in the St. Louis, MO area that has an opportunity for a Purchasing Manager.

In this role, you will be working as a Purchasing Manager for a client that works in the manufacturing industry. This position will be responsible for all aspects of purchasing including sourcingraw materials, specialized components required to engineer and build custom machinery.

This is a contract to possible permanent role that is a long term need for my client. This position must be worked on site.

Pay; 75,000-$90,000/Yr.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in business or supply chain preferred or equivalent experience
• 3+ years of experience in purchasing or buying experience in a manufacturing, automation or heavy metal fabrication environment
• Familiarity with machining, fabrication, welding consumables (motors, drives, electrical components, sensors etc..)
• Experience with ERP/MRP software in a job shop environment
• Experience reading and understanding technical drawings
• Experience with negotiation - responsible for estimating total cost of ownership of the product.
• Strong experience with identifying suppliers, managing vendor performance etc.
• Inventory control and planning experience
• Contract management experience - understand legal terms and compliance requirements
• Work with engineering and Project management team to review BOMs and technical drawings to help with quoting and purchasing
