Job summary

Hankook Tire is seeking an experienced MRO Purchasing Specialist to handle the PR/PO process for spare MRO parts and oversee inventory with timely reporting. You will manage vendor quotes, budgets, and ensure accuracy of invoicing while directing warehouse operations and reporting on spending against budgets.

The role requires several years of purchasing experience, a bachelor’s degree or equivalent, and strong English communication.

Qualifications

• Education and experience in purchasing and inventory control are required.
• Experience in managing PR/PO processes and MRO inventories is preferred.
• Strong English written and spoken communication is required.
• Knowledge of cost control, budgeting, and reporting is expected.
• Familiarity with vendor management, bids, and supplier selection is desired.

Responsibilities

• Purchasing vendor management and purchasing process control.
• Manage the PR/PO process for spare (MRO) parts and budgeted supplies and consumables.
• Review vendor quotes and bids for accuracy and competitive strategies.
• Ensure consigned MRO inventories are verified and invoiced.
• Direct operators and assigns tasks to ensure operation of MRO receiving and warehouse.
• Issue purchase orders and make necessary changes to existing orders to meet actual needs.
• Ensure MRO inventory system data is monitored and maintained.
• Report on cycle count activity and results.
• Provide reports of expected vs. actual spending related to monthly operating budgets.
• Comply with and support health, safety, and environmental programs, policies, and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Type: Exempt; Full-time

About the position

We are looking for an experienced Purchasing Specialist to conduct ongoing business with established MRO providers. Execute the PR/PO process for spare (MRO) parts and supplies. Oversee the operation of MRO spare parts inventory, ensuring timely and accurate reporting. Perform on-off purchases with appropriate approvals.

Responsibilities are:

• Purchasing vendor management and purchasing process control
• Manage the PR/PO process for spare (MRO) parts and budgeted supplies and consumables
• Reviews vendor quotes and bids for accuracy and competitive strategies
• Ensure consigned MRO inventories are verified and invoiced
• Direct operators and assigns tasks to ensure operation of MRO receiving and warehouse

Requirements are:

Education:

• (Required) bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in purchasing and inventory control
• (Preferred) business administration major or advanced degree in a related field

Experience:

• (Required) several years of relevant experience
• (Preferred) previous experience in the manufacturing industry

Language:

• (Required) good command of written and spoken English

Skills & Knowledge:

• Administration and Management - Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources
• Management of Material Resources - Obtaining and seeing to the appropriate use of equipment, facilities, and materials needed to do certain work
• Customer and Personal Service - Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction
• Clerical - Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, stenography and transcription, designing forms, and other office procedures and terminology
• Critical Thinking - Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems
• Reading Comprehension - Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents

Physical Demands:

• Must be able to frequently move about the manufacturing plant campus, general office environments, production areas, and occasionally ascend/descend stairs
• Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time
• Must be able to operate a computer and other office productivity machinery
• Must be able to position self to file documents including the top and bottom drawers of file cabinets
• Must be able to occasionally move office equipment and supplies weighing up to 25 pounds
